Burn Fat and Build Muscle with an Effective Weight Loss Exercise Program
Effective weight loss exercise is all about burning fat (building muscle at the same time also helps). Most conventional exercise routines seem to be endurance based. I find long duration endurance based exercise really boring so I don't do it, you have to be really motivated to do it. It does burn some calories and some fat but there is a better way that burns more and takes less exercise time.I remember one young guy who was in training for an Iron Man competition. One of his exercises was doing laps in a pool for about 40 minutes per day. He was so bored, he wished there was a newspaper or a T.V. screen on the bottom of the pool to break the boredom. Maybe you have to do that to be an Iron Man but you certainly don't need it to be healthy or to lose weight. The best type of fat burning exercise is intensity based, not endurance based, i.e. intense exercise for a short period followed by rest and then repeated a number of times.
This is the basis of an exercise program called PACE (Progressively Accelerating Cardiopulmonary Exertion)
A PACE session can be as short as 12 minutes and is never longer than 20 minutes. During the session your body burns carbs from muscle tissue and when you finish the session your body starts to burn stored fat to replace the carbs it just used and will continue to do so for up to 24 hours. After a while, your body will stop making fat. It just doesn't need it any more. This 'after burning' of fat is the key to getting rid of excess fat, not long boring exercise routines. It really is the best exercise for weight loss.
